Express Entry

Once you meet the eligibility criteria for one of the skilled worker programs and submit an application through the Express Entry system, you will be evaluated and ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) by the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The CRS is a points-based system that evaluates your profile based on factors such as your age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors. You will be ranked against other candidates who have also submitted their profiles to the Express Entry pool.

The highest-ranking candidates will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada. The CRS has a total of 1200 points, and the highest-scoring candidates will have a greater chance of receiving an ITA.

To enter the Express Entry pool, applicants must meet the minimum eligibility requirements of at least one of the following immigration programs:

  • The Federal Skilled Worker Class

  • The Canadian Experience Class

  • The Federal Skilled Trades Class

However, it is important to note that meeting the minimum eligibility requirements of any of these programs does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada. This is because the selection process is a multi-stage process, and applicants are evaluated based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Candidates who have the highest CRS scores are more likely to receive an ITA.
